Our Team

Dr. Syrop’s practice is different from most other dental offices. There are two types of patients that are treated. The first group are those with facial pain, TMD/TMJ , headaches and jaw problems. The second group are those patients with sleep apnea and snoring problems. There are very few practices that are devoted to treating so many people with these types of problems. The goal for those patients with TMD and orofacial pain is to reduce pain levels, improve function and get back to a normal life. For those with sleep apnea or snoring the goal is to have a good nights sleep without disturbing their sleep partner.

About Us

Our Services

We will customize the treatment so you can achieve lasting relief. In addition to treating temporomandibular joint disorder, TMJ, we also provide treatment for sleep apnea. 85% to 90% of TMD patients respond well to conservative care such as jaw exercises, awareness of clenching and tooth grinding, medications and oral appliances. More advanced treatment is available for those who need it such as Botox. Our main treatment for sleep apnea is an oral appliance that you wear at night. It will help keep the lower jaw forward keeping the airway open and prevent the snoring and apnea. There are various designs of appliances and we will select the right one for your needs. Another sleep apnea treatment is known as a CPAP machine. It blows air through the nose and mouth; although effective the compliance is low. Many of our patients are those who cannot tolerate CPAP. We can help you determine the most effective option for your needs.
